The kids started a new school today. They built a brand new school about half a mile from our house. It is called Endeavor Elementary named after the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Last week they had a grand opening event and had the commander from the space shuttle come and speak. This is a picture of Brigham and one of his friends with the astronaut in the background. Brig is on Student Council so had to help hand out stuff at the open house and got the spend the evening at the same table as the space man. The kids are pretty excited.

Here are a few pics from a recent Bees Game with Grandpa. It was a blast. We had great seats right on the third base line and as you can see the Bee was a hit with the kids. Grandpa took us all to the game and provided a great dinner too.

It's always the best surprise when you hear a lawn mower going and look outside to find this!! Especially when you did not even ask. Then to top it off when he is done he starts cleaning out the garage all by himself. Come to find out Clint had mentioned yesterday that maybe we should clean out the garage so we can park Jas and Nic's car in it while we try to sell it for them. What an awesome Kid!!! I LOVE HIM!!! And I just saw Alicia on the news from her school field trip today! She was the Attorney for Pig in a mock trial they did at the Davis county Court house. Great day and Great kids!

New Years!

We had two parties at our house on New Years Eve. Jas and Nik were down from Twin Falls and came over for our first new year (10:00pm, 12:00am in New York!). It was a lot of fun and we had lots of snacks. The kids had fun blowing their horns and doing poppers!

Then we had Tina, Gage, and Jack over. They arrived about 10:30. We had fun playing games, eating, and talking. At 12:00 we did more poppers and blew horns.

Our neighbors let off lots of fireworks. I tried to take a picture but it did not turn out so well!

Isaac's Birthday!

I can hardly believe Isaac turned 6 on December 29th. He is growing up way to fast. I love his hugs and cuddles!We had a fun time on his birthday.
We had a great breakfast made by Clint.Then he as able to take 2 of his friends, Will and Ethan, to Boondocks for some fun later!

I've been awful at blogging lately so I thought I would start catching up. I hope to finish December today!

I thought I would start with Christmas! We have a tradition of opening up presents from Family on Christmas Eve. Each year the kids draw names and pick out a fun present for that person. Me and Clint always give them PJ's and a book. Then we are off the the Halverson's for Christmas Eve Dinner. It is always really fun to be with cousins!!

On Christmas morning we make them sing us a Christmas song to get us out of bed (a tradition Clint had growing up) and then we make them form a line from youngest to oldest to go down stairs (a tradition Lisa had growing up). They are way to spoiled and I think they all go what they asked for. This is how our house looks after they are done opening their presents!! Here are some fun videos of them opening their presents.

Amazing Sailer!

If you have looked at the blogs of our family (listed on the right-hand side bar) then you know that we recently went on an amazing family vacation. What a great time! I feel very blessed to have an extended family that we enjoy spending so much time with. We loved every minute of it. OK, not everyone loved every minute of the 17 foot waves, but everyone endured in style!

I wanted to share a few pictures of my favorite sailor. She is the most amazing wife, girlfriend, mother, dancer, sand-castle builder and cruiser I have ever met! I am one lucky man.

I also had to include this one picture of our family's top dancer. This kid knows how to party "Carnival" style!

Brigham's getting big!

I can hardly believe that Brigham is already 11. He has grown up way to fast and I'm to young to have a 11 year old!! We sure love him! He is the perfect child! He also received his Weeblos and Arrow of Light in scouts. This is a lot of work and we are very proud of him!

November and December

We took our annual trip to see the lights at temple square. This year was the first year we have ever been the day after Thanksgiving. The weather was great because it was not too cold, but the crowds were a different story. It was hard to get around and you could not even think about stopping and taking a picture! It was really fun though. We took the train down, went to the Gateway and to temple square.

Joshy had a Christmas program at his school. He was so cute!

Jacob was in Basketball all November and December. He did a great job! He was the best on his team.

We took a trip up to Brighton right before Christmas. We were a little nervous to go because of what happened to us last year. If you want to know what happened just click HERE. Our only incident this year was that the main water line coming into the cabin had frozen so there was no running water. Our kids had fun melting snow to flush the toilets and wash hands with. I think Halversons' at Brighton Cabin don't have good plumbing experiences. I think it is safe to say that we would take the frozen water main over the Old Faithful toilet any day!
Everyone but Clint Josh and Izzy went Skiing or Snowboarding. Brig, and Jake took snowboarding lessons and I have say are excellent snowboarders! Alicia took Ski lessons and does really good. She is a speed demon! He teacher said she needed to work on learning to go slower. I think she knows how to go slow but just loves to go fast!
We had a great time up at Brighton and need to go more often! You can see more pictures of snowboarding and the cabin HERE on Karen and Brandon's blog, and HERE on my parents blog. I did not take my camera skiing so Karen and my Dad have all the pictures!

I'm kind of behind. Today I thought I would post some pictures of Halloween and Frightmares! We were lucky enough to have Season Passes to Lagoon again and went to Frightmares Often. We have found that we like going to Lagoon in the Spring or to Frightmares in the Fall because it is usually not as crowded. Especially when it is not really warm!! We had a great Halloween. It was nice that it was on a Saturday this year. It did not seem quite as crazy of a day. Every year we go to Clint's office and Trick-or-Treat, this year it was on Friday so it made it easier and not as stressful for me! We were able to have the Bennett's over for dinner Halloween night. Then Brigham was off to go Trick-or-Treating in our old neighborhood with Brooke. This is why I do not have any pictures of him. (it is also because I'm getting bad at remembering to take all the pictures I should)

Can you believe Alicia is already 9! She is growing up way to fast for me. She has such a fun spirit and loves doing everything. One of the things I love most about her is that she loves to give loves! If you ever need a hug you know she will give you one. She is such a joy to have in our house and we absolutely love her and all she does for and brings to our family. Life would sure be boring without her.

Fun Family Night!!

We had a fun family night last week. It was warm. The last warm day there was!! So we decided it would be fun to go ICE BLOCKING!! Of course everything is funner with friends so we invited the Bells and Bennetts from our old neighborhood to come with us. The kids had so much fun. When I first told Brigham we were going Ice Blocking he did not want to go. Come to find out he thought I said "Ice Walking" and didn't think that sounded very fun. Once he understood he would be sliding down a hill on a block of Ice he was excited. It was lots of fun and I have to say Josh was a pro!!! He could go all the way down the hill without falling off his block! When he would fall he would continue to tumble down the hill, he is so funny! He loved it. They all did.
We had lots of fun with old friends too. While the kids were Ice Blocking I made some Raspberry Ice Cream. It was really tasty!! We are so lucky to have such great friends to have fun with!!!

Alicia's Performance

Yesterday Alicia had a performance with her Singing/Dance group Treehouse Rock! She had a solo, Love Story, a song Taylor Swift sings. This was supposed to be a duet but the girl she sings it with was not able to make it. For having about a 10 minute warning that she would be doing it alone she did the best job. I know I'm her Mom and you think I have to say that but She really was the star of the show. We are so proud of her and love her love for life! She really has no fear for performing in front of people, and has a great stage presence. We Love You Alicia!! GREAT JOB!

Island Park

This last weekend we went up to The Cabin in Island Park. It was so much fun!! Even the ride there was fun. We were able to stop in Idaho Falls and see Russ and Betsy and their new house. It was beautiful! It inspired me to get going and decorate mine. Or at least finish painting everywhere. We also loved all their woodwork! The kids had fun playing Mario Cart with Amanda, Tiffany, Nik, and one of their Aberdeen friends. It was a great break for the kids and I think they had lots of fun!! Then we stopped at Fazoli's for dinner before heading off to Island Park.
On Friday we had a full day! We went to Big Springs in the morning, then to West Yellowstone to shop, and then to Yellowstone. I think the kids favorite part was West and buying their new toys! Brigham and Jacob got a gun that shoots rubber bullets, Alicia got a pocket knife with her name on it and a Cat that looks real (it breaths!), Isaac got a spinner gun, and Josh got a nice horse that makes noise. Clint said his favorite part of the day was the picnic we had in Yellowstone, and I really liked the beautiful drive and Old Faithful. Clint said he has never seen Old Faithful so crowded. It took us 20 minutes to find a parking spot and the boardwalk was full when in went off!
Saturday the kids had fun playing around the Cabin with their new toys and the walki-talki's. Then we went over to Big Springs again and went and saw John Sack's Cabin. Then it was home because I had to teach on Sunday. It was a fun vacation.

The Snake!

We had this fun visitor in our yard a couple of weeks ago! Jake was not scared of it at all. (Unlike me! I don't like visitors of any kind in my yard especially when they can scare me while I'm pulling weeds!) So Clint and Jake captured it in our garbage can. This was quite fun to watch!! We took our short walk to the park and let it go in the field behind it. We thought this would be a nice home for the creepy crawler! Anywhere is better than in my flowers!!

Lagoon with Karen and Brandon!

We were able to spend a day at Lagoon with Karen and Brandon. The weekend after Suzy's wedding Karen and Brandon came back trough on their way home, and we were able to have some fun with them. I think my kids made Karen a little sick to her stomach by making her go on every ride. They went on all the roller coasters including Wicked! This was also Jacob's first time riding Wicked. He loved it!! They also talked Brandon into taking them all on the Samurai while I went and picked Clint up from home. That is one intense ride, I've only done it once and that was enough for me because I felt like I was going to fall right out of my seat! (also it killed my favorite cell phone because I left it in my pocket! I'm just glad it did not hit anyone as it flew out during the ride!) The last ride we went on that day was the Cliffhanger I had never been on this ride before so I was thinking we would get wet but not too bad oh was I wrong! It was like having buckets and buckets of water poured over your head! I was amazed at how wet we got! But it was still lots of fun. We then were able to have some pizza at our house with Chris, Greg, Liz, Kail and Kalvin. We had lots of fun!

The Wedding

My baby sister is MARRIED! Suzy and Scott got married July 25th. It was a great day. They did not get married until 1:40pm so it was not as crazy getting everyone ready and to the temple on time! It was nice because we pretty much went straight from the temple to the reception. The kids seemed to have lots of fun!

4th of July

We had so much fun over the 4th of July!! We had a fun cul-de-sac party. The kids had lots of fun with all their friends, and the Corbridges were nice and put on a great firework show for all of us!
On the 4th we usually go up to Huntsville and cook breakfast with all the Halverson Family but this year Alicia was in the Kaysville Parade with her dance group. Clint was still able to go help in Huntsville in the early hours of the morning. Then it was off the the parade. It was fun to go to the parade and see lots of people we know! The Corbridges came to the parade with us. The kids had fun gathering candy and small toys thrown from the floats. Alicia did a great job and seemed to be having lots of fun! After the parade we were off to the Halversons for a family BBQ. It was fun to be able to see everyone! Then we were able to go swimming with the Crobridges at their parent's pool. It was a fun full day!!

Jacob's Party!

Jacob had a really fun birthday party last Saturday. We went up to our cabin in East Canyon. First they made some shields and then had a sword battle out on the field. Next came the Marshmallow shooters! They had so much fun shooting each other with marshmallows! We gave them all some goggles so no eye injuries would occur! (just for uncle Jas!) Then we had a hot dog roast down at the fire pit, followed by Ice Cream and Cake! Then we opened presents really fast because we were running a little late. I think everyone had a lot of fun especially Jacob and that is all that really matters!

Clint's Birthday!!

It was Clint's Birthday last week. This is his favorite day of the whole year!!! He went to work most of the day but we still had lots of fun! We were not able to open presents in the mornings because of swimming, work, and being up to late the night before. He got lots of neat presents: A new set of phones, some Wii games, and a screw driver. Jacob had a baseball game and we had some of Clint's favorite foods for dinner. We love him and love how much he loves his birthday! It was a really fun day!

It's hard to believe that Jacob is 7!! He had a fun birthday. He was able to open all his presents in the morning and have fun at swimming lessons and Lagoon! He has such a sweet spirit and is full of lots of energy. We Love You Jacob!! I forgot to mention that we also ate dinner at Cracker Barrel that night as well we did not get there until about 8:30 because of some baseball games!

Clint took Brigham, Alicia, Jacob, and Isaac up to Island Park over Memorial Day. They had lots of fun with all their cousins. They really liked riding with Uncle Jason in his new Rhino. (A Rhino is an ATV that seats 4 people.) Brigham told stories of water coming in as they crossed rivers. He had lots of fun! Me and Josh got to have some time just with each other. It's always fun when your able to have one on one time with your kids!

We had so much fun at Brighton over Spring Break! The kids had so much fun playing in all the snow! they were able to make quite a sledding hill on the side of the Cabin and they loved jumpin off the deck! These are some really fun videos of them jumping off the deck!

Isaac was the first to jump and jumped a little too close to the deck and fell down in. He did not get hurt just wedged between the railing of the deck and the snow!! Brigham, Alicia, and Jacob just kept jumping! They had so much fun!! Joshy loved army crawling in the snow and had fun building a snow man with Brigham. He loved it so much when we were leaving he thought we were going to pack him up and take him along with us. He was not scard to go down the sledding hill at all. We had to watch him close so he wouldn't just get on a sled and take off down the hill by himeself! Other than Alicia's two bloody noses from face planting at the bottom of the sledding hill we had no injuries. Clint and the kids made some cool seats on the side roof of the cabin to watch the sledders.

Now for our fun experience! While we were there we had some fun with the sewer/septic tank! I had just gotten back from a trip to the Brighton store and was standing in the kitchen and heard some funny noises coming from the bathroom. I went to see what was going on and to my surprise the toilet was exploding. I mean it really was like old faithful. It ended up happening 3 times before we were able to figure out it was a sump pump that was going off and pushing tons of sewer water out at us every hour. Someone had clogged the sewer! So we called my dad and he came to our rescue that night! He was able to bring up a 100 foot snake. It was quite heavy to snow shoe into the cabin and it took the whole thing to get to the clog!! The boys had fun using the bathroom outside all day and Alicia had her first experience of going in the wild! We have been camping but there has always been an outhouse where we've been camping. This is one trip I don't think we will ever forget!! It was tons of fun and tons of work. I don't think the cabin has been as clean as it is now in a long time. I was able to scrub the floor on my hands and knees twice with bleach and do more laundry than I wanted to on vacation. I was glad to find someone had brought bleach to the cabin!! I think it is almost all gone after the cleaning and laundry!

Conference Sunday

We had a great time on Conference Sunday! We ate Crepes, Breakfast Pizza, and fruit. I always eat to much because the food is so good! The kids look forward to this every Conference, they have contests to see who can eat the most! It is a fun tradition! During Conference Kail and Josh had fun wrestling with Jacob. Everyone had fun with each other!

We were also able to have a Easter candy hunt in between sessions. All the kids came out of the hunt with a huge bag full of candy! It was a very fun enjoyable Sunday spent with the family!

Last week at school Alicia and Jacob had their program. I got to go twice! Thursday was for the 1st grade and Friday for the 2nd grade. It was a great program. They knew all the words to the songs! I was amazed at how many kids were in the 1st and 2nd grade. They took up every inch of the stage and stairs and had two side stages brought in! There were also so many parents there, every chair was taken and there wasn't much more standing room. By standing room I mean everywhere including the isles!!

I can hardly believe my baby is 3 now! Isn't he just so cute. He had a great birthday full of lots of activities! We had doughnuts for breakfast, his was bigger than his face! We were able to play all day and go to Classic Skating for dinner and fun! Joshy is full of life and fun to have around the house!!

Sunday I was looking at pictures and came across these really fun videos of Fishing with Grandpa at Brighton! Grandpa is so much fun to fish with because he doesn't make the kids do any of the work! They get to catch the fish and run far enough away to watch him get the fish back home! We are so lucking to have such a nice Grandpa that will take us fishing at the Cabin, give us shoulder rides, eat Ice cream and Cheese Pizza with us, and even help us build our crafts!

The Truth!

Clint failed to mention that he moved just as much dirt as me yesterday. Except he did in 2 Hours what took me 6 1/2 Hours. Don't you sometimes wish you were stronger? Things seem to go alot faster when your stronger! So really Clint did just as much as me and still went to work all day. I think that is pretty amazing!

This is a really fun video of Josh Izzy and Brig going down the dirt on bikes! Little Joshy was the first to figure out how fun it was to ride a bike down the Mound of DIRT. It was not easy for him to push the bike up but he did and you should have seen his face the first time he went down!

SUPER LISA!!!!

I have to say that my wife ROCKS! She is by far the most amazing woman that I know. Today she had a very large dump truck of dirt delivered.

Not only did she have it delivered, she moved it by hand into our flower beds so that we could get ready to plant our trees. I got home from work and helped a little, but she did most the hard work.

Now, you might think that in and of itself is amazing, but there is more. She took care of the kids, cooked a wonderful dinner, and had a girls camp meeting today too.

She is wonderful and I am very blessed and lucky she told me "yes" 12 years ago and that she still puts up with me.

Alicia's New Game!

We all want spring to start and it seems like we get a taste for a little while then.... SNOW!! There is snow on the ground today but on Sunday it was a beautiful day! Alicia spent most of the afternoon playing basketball with our Huge green ball. I think she liked having to get the ball out of the hoop just as much as getting it in!
While Alicia was playing her fun game the boys were in Brigham's room playing with their new toys! They don't get many new toys so they really enjoy them when they do!

After seeing all the kids but Josh I asked Clint where he was. He did not know so I went searching!

He had climbed in his bed and went to sleep. This is very unusual because he does not take naps anymore!

Brigham's Pinewood Derby

Brigham had his first Pinewood Derby Yesterday. It was alot more intense than I was expecting! I had never experienced a Derby before. I was amazed at some of the cars the boys (or should I say their Dad's) were able to build. Brigham's Car did great!

In this video Brigham's car is on the second track. He is racing against one of the first place cars and came in a very close second. Great job Brigham!!!

Cabo San Lucas

In Cabo we went on a Glass Bottom Boat to Lovers Beach it was beautiful. We also did the last of our shopping and then walked the boardwalk. It was probably the cleanest and newest of the ports. The waves on the pacific coast were very strong! They don't look that big but they are really powerful!

Mazatlan

In Mazatlan we went to "Old Town" to see the Old Church. It was really pretty! But we were there when a Funeral Procession came in. Kind of Awkward! We Then went down to the "Gold Zone" There was supposed to be great shopping there. I would not really agree. We did get to see an Old Man Carving wood. It made you feel bad but not bad enough to buy anything! We also went to the beach. It was Pretty. I wish we had done some para sailing, next time I guess. I also want to go see the light house if we ever get back to Mazatlan.

Jungle Adventure - Puerto Vallarta

In Puerto Vallarta we went on a Jungle adventure. It was so much fun we got on a speed boat for a half hour and went to a fishing village where we got in these Mercedes trucks that took us up in the mountains. We drove through a river and on some very bumpy roads. Then the fun started! We were able to ride Burro's up the mountain. I have to say that Burro's don't really like to go! It was an experience I will never forget. Then we rode lots of zip lines, repelled and walked over some bridges. It was lots of fun. If you are ever in Puerto Vallarta you need to definitely do this!!

What a Vacation!!!!

We just returned from a week long cruise with Grant & Sandra, Russ & Betsy, John & Nancy, Chris & Greg and Dustin & Annie. We had a great time. We laughed a lot and ate even more. It seemed like after each meal we were off to get cleaned up for the next meal. The food was awesome.

Lisa is going to create a slide show later, but I thought I would add a few fun pictures for everyone.

Here is our strength contest on "Lovers Beach" in Cabo. I think Grant was a definite winner!

We did a lot of shopping. Dustin, Annie, Lisa and I took a long walk on the boardwalk in Cabo. The sales people were pretty pushy and I am little worried that Dustin and I looked a little ragged because we kept getting asked to buy pot. On top of that, Dustin had a random lady place a lizard on his head and she refused to take it off until he paid her $2. In the end Annie "persuaded" her to remove it.

It was a great chance for me and Lisa to spend some time together. Thanks Mom & Dad! It was a vacation that we will never forget.

I'm 5 can you believe it!

Isaac has grown up so fast I don't know how he is already 5! He had a great birthday. We were able to go to Chuck E Cheese as a family it was lots of fun. Brigham had gone with his friend Max (whose birthday was the same day as Isaac's) to breakfast and a Movie so he was not with us. We had some Cheese pizza (Isaac's favorite kind) and played lots of fun games! It was alot of fun!! I have not been here since I was a little kid, It was different than I was expecting and lots of fun!

We also were able to have the family over for cake and ice cream. he had lots of fun and received great presents. Isaac is such a fun happy kid. We are so blessed to have his bright spirit in our home. He is growing so fast and a great brother and friend to everyone. He loves to cuddle!

We had a great time at Grandma and Grandpa Cannon's! Each of the kids got a great toy to play with while we were opening presents. Brigham got a DS game Sonic and Mario at the Olympics which he loves. Alicia received some Hannah Montana dolls and Sharpay with her pink convertible. Liz got the same thing and they had a fun time playing with them together. Jacob got a fun Indiana Jones play set which he had fun setting up! Isaac got a transformer and a bakugan character. Josh received a fun Cars car track, and had fun racing the cars with Kail and Kalvin. My parents are so generous and gave us a fun Foosball table. The kids love to play it and it is a main attraction when we have people over!

Me and Clint had Sue's name this year. We gave her a remote for her camera so she can take pictures. She had fun trying to figure it out! All of us gave my parents a photo book which Janae organized and did most of the work on. It turned out great and they seem to really love it. Janae also did this last year. We were also able to see Janae, Rick and Wyatt via the web cam they gave my parents. It was a great day and we are excited to be able so see everyone in person in a couple of days!

Christmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas morning. The kids slept in until 8:00 am. I think that is amazing! We were having so much fun at Granny's on Christmas Eve we did not leave until around 10:30pm. So I think they were tired! This was such a fun year with all the kids at an age that they really enjoy Santa and the excitement of Christmas!

Brigham had asked Santa for the Star Wars Clone Wars DS game which he received along with a few other things. Alicia asked Santa for a pair of "Brown Boots" similar to UGGS she wears them all the time! Jacob had asked for a Nintendo DS, he has played this as much as he can! Isaac asked for Transformers and got 3 of them. Joshua wanted more Geo Trax stuff, he got the airplane Geo Trax set and loves it!

Christmas Eve

Christmas at Last! We have a Christmas Eve tradition of giving the kids a pair of PJ's and a book. They draw names and exchange gifts with each other. We open these presents on Christmas Eve. This year since we were going to a family gathering at Granny's we started the opening at around 2 o'clock. That was still about 2 hours to late in the kids minds.

The kids were very thoughtful of each other this year. They each took a lot of time and effort to select just the right gift for each other. They used their allowance to buy the gift. It was pretty neat to watch. They were almost more excited to see the person open the gift as they were to get their own gift.

That evening we headed over to Grany and Grandpa-Hunny's house for a nice ham dinner and to be spoiled by the grandparents. We had a great evening with Tina and Ryan's families. We were sad that Jason and his family couldn't join us.

We can hardly believe Brigham is already 10. We had a great Birthday. Brigham got a new Razor electric Scooter. It was about 10 degrees outside that morning so he took a 30 second spin and it has snowed since. I am sure he will really enjoy it once he can take it out on the street and ride it.

After School Brigham took his friend Max and we all went to the Clearfield Aquatic Center. It is a new place, and it is pretty cool. It has a huge water slide and a big play area with the soft floors and spraying toys everywhere. The kids had a great time and no one brought any bugs home from the pool for Christmas.

That evening we had a nice get together with family and celebrated Brig's birthday. It was a great day! Brigham is a great young man. He is responsible, caring, and is becoming very mature. He loves to read, loves Ben 10, Transformers, Star Wars and anything to do with Nintendo. We are very blessed to have Brigham as part of our family!

Alicia Turned 8 in October and was so excited to finally be baptized! She got lots of fun things for her birthday but her favorite present was a new bike. Finally a Girly bike!

She also had a really fun friend birthday party. We had about 11 girls here for a late night birthday party. They ate pizza, watched the Hannah Montana concert, and played some fun games!

Then her favorite day was November 8th when she was finally able to get baptized! It was a great day and she bring such a wonderful lively spirit to our home!

Here are some pictures of the kids first day of school. Brigham, Alicia, and Jacob stared a new school this year. They are going to Eagle Bay Elementary. Brigham started the 4th grade in Mrs. Benton's class. He seems to really like it and has not minded starting a new school. Alicia started the 2nd grade in Mrs. Poulsen's class and she loves it. Jacob started 1st grade in Mrs. Ryder's class and has enjoyed meeting new people. Isaac started at Apple Tree Preschool in Mrs. Jen's class and has lots of fun with his friend Will. Trip to Brighton

We Had alot of fun fishing, hiking, and making crafts at the cabin. We were able to all hike up the twin lakes with Karen and Brandon and Grandpa. Isaac made it the whole way up and back powered only by himself. I have to say that is amazing! The kids had lots of fun fishing with grandpa and all were able to catch a fish. I have some really funny video of Grandpa trying to get the fish off the hook to put the back in the lake. It was really fun and the kids will always remember it. This is my favorite picture. I took it from the other side of the lake.

Homeless

We are still without a primary residence. Grant and Sandra are being great hosts for us. They house and feed us during the week and we spend the weekends up in Ogden. Lisa treks up to Kaysville a few times a week for cub scouts, guitar lessons, piano lessons, etc. She is becoming a great commuter. (a little empathy for my daily drive!)

We just spent this last weekend with the Halverson Family celebrating the 4th of July. We started the morning bright and early (3:45 am) getting ready to cook for the Hunstville Breakfast in the Park. After breakfast we all enjoyed a nice "small town" parade.

After the parade we enjoyed a nice family barbecue and then went swimming at Ryan and Christy's parents house. We had a great time until Alicia jumped off the diving board and went to the side. She "kissed" the wall. She hit right above her lip and just below her nose. Angelina Jolie has nothing on Alicia's full lips!

The house is coming along slower than we want. We have a punch list of items that we are discussing with them to have them fix. It seems to me that it would make more sense to do it right the first time and not have to incur the hastle of fixing it again. All the same, things are turning out beautifully. We are excited to move in.

We have started attending church in our new ward and really enjoying it. It is huge. There are 694 people in our ward, including the Halversons. They announced today that they are going to split it next week. We had a ward swimming part at the Farmington pool this last week and there were around 600 people in attendance. Everyone is in the same situation we are trying to get to know each other.

It has been a great summer. We are getting more and more excited to move into our new house and start a new life in our new neighborhood.

SOLD!

We are officially homeless. On June 11th Lisa and I signed the papers to sell our home in Kaysville. It was a lot harder than we ever expected to drive away and leave the place that we had dumped so much time, effort and love into. We have been in that home for over 7 years. The kids have all grown up (so far) in that neighborhood. On the 12th when Lisa had to finally pack up the kids and drive away it was harder than we ever imagined. This coupled with the fact that we lost Josh for half an hour on the 11th as we were packing the house made for a tough few days. We were working on finishing up loose ends at the house and Lisa had taken Jake and Izzy to the neighbors for a birthday party and Josh set off to find her. He overshot the neighbors and just kept on going and was two or three blocks away when we finally found him. He was pretty traumatized from being lost and was very happy to be back in Lisa's arms. Overall we know we are making the right decision, but it has been hard.

We have been able to move in with Grant and Sandra. They have been off to Paris for the last week so it gave us a chance to settle in to the house while they were gone. One of the best parts of this is that my commute is now only 8 minutes. Hopefully we should only have to inconvenience Mom and Dad for a month or so before our new house is complete. Things seem to be moving along nicely.

We did run into our first big issue on the house. They finished all the drywall and applied a "Holy Smooth" finish to all the walls. This is apperantly a popular finish that they are doing in all the "High End" homes. The only problem was it wasn't what we wanted. They originally told Lisa that there was nothing they could do. This didn't help since this news came on the 12th just as Lisa was leaving the old house. We were able to pull together all our paperwork and show them that we had indeed opted out of this "upgrade". With a little help from a few friends at Woodside we now have smooth walls. It was a big project for them, but they restored the smooth finish.

This should be a great summer with a lot of adventures!

We went by the house yesterday while someone came to see the house. They have put in most of the plumbing and both furnaces and Air Conditioners. The roof was finished last week along with the porch being poured and the framing being completed. It is amazing to me how fast it is coming along!

Aloha! This past week Lisa and I had the chance to make it to Hawaii. We had a really nice trip. Sandra and Grant we great enough to come and stay with the kids while we were gone. We really owe them for this one. I worked the entire time we were there, but Lisa had some good time to enjoy the lovely beaches where we stayed and simply relax. That is a luxury that doesn't often appear in the life of a mother of 5 kids. We flew into Oahu on Monday, then went to Maui on Wednesday morning and then took the red-eye flight home on Thursday night. We have picked out a nice time-share complex by Marriott that we are saving up Marriott points for to take the whole family back to some day.

The house finally looks like a house. They are moving along quickly. The framing is probably about 75% to 80% complete. There are a few minor items that Lisa and I are working with the builder on to fix, but it is amazing to me how they can build something so big from just a simple set of plans. I guess that's why I am more of the numbers and operations guy and not in the family business of construction.

We had a couple see the house last week that let our Realtor know that they were pretty interested. If they end up buying it then we will have to share a commission with Sandra and Grant for showing the house when we were gone.

Other than these few large items, things are moving along for the Halverson family. Life is never dull. We love the energy the kids bring to life and all the excitement. We were really ready to come home after being away for a week. We have a great group of kids!!!

Monday, as I drove by the house they were smoothing the cement in the garage. I ment to go back and take a picture but life got crazy and I was not even able to make it by the house yesterday. So after I dropped Isaac off at preschool this morning I stopped by the house and they have started framing! I did not want to get in their way so I just took some pictures from the street. I'm hoping to go back by this evening with the kids and take some pictures of them,and some more detailed ones as well. I bet it will also look a lot different this evening. They frame houses really quickly.

House, Easter and Much More

Well, after a blazing week of blogging we had a bit of a slow down. So, we will try and catch up in this blog. The house is coming along. Early this week the excavator came and filled all the dirt in around the house. They put gravel all around the foundation, seal the foundation and put in the window wells. Late last week the plumbers came and put in all the below ground plumbing such as floor drains, the water main, and all the main drains for the entire house. Here are a few pictures of the house. Next step is concrete on the basement floor and in the garage and then framing. They are estimating that by the first week in May we will have all the framing, electrical, and plumbing done. The roof will also be on. We will see if they can keep to the timeline.

On Saturday of last week we went up to the Halverson's for a late Easter celebration in between the afternoon session and Priesthood session. It was great to have the entire family together for a nice afternoon. Everyone was there except for Tina. Her boys were able to come. The goal was to find all of your eggs. The kids got candies, trinkets and a little money in their eggs. The adults all had a chance to choose three eggs from a large basket. Then each individual got to decide if and how the group would switch their eggs. After everyone had a turn to decide the switching everyone opened their eggs and there was money ranging from one dollar to one egg that had $100 bill. It was fun to see everyone open the eggs and see what they had given away to other people and what they had received. Here are a few pictures of the party.

Then last Sunday we were able to have the Cannon family up to our house for Conference Crepes and a great day together. Sandra and Grant were planning on having us all to their house for the gathering, but unfortunately Sandra's dad unexpectedly passed away. Grandma passed away from a graceful battle with cancer about three months ago. It was a surprise to have him pass away, but it is great that he is together with Grandma again. My sister-in-law Chris has a great tribute to them on her blog. The link to her page is on the right. Here are a few pictures of our conference day.

We also celebrated Karen's 24th Birthday while everyone was here. WOW, that is a lot of candles.

Lisa and I had scheduled to go to Hawaii for a work trip this last week, but with Grandpa's funeral we rescheduled for the week of April 21st. Grant and Sandra are reshuffling their schedules to help us get away for a few days. Thanks!!!

On Wednesday we packed up the family and went up to Aberdeen, ID for the viewing and funeral. It was an amazing service and really made me think of what a great example Grandpa was of having your priorities straight. He didn't need a lot of material things, but he definitely loved the Lord and served Him with all his might. It was a great service.

Today has been a great Sunday. We enjoyed a wonderful fast day. Lisa shared her testimony with the ward today. I was outside with Josh and missed it, but all the sisters in the ward made a point to tell me how absolutely beautiful it was. She is a great example to our family. Her trust in the Lord and ability to hear his counsel and then follow it is an example to us all.

We enjoyed a nice spring day out in front of the house with the neighbors. We are definitely going to miss the neighborhood.

The Footings

The house is moving forward! We did not go by the house yesterday and they had poured the footings. Our neighbor was kind enough to let Clint know this morning. So this morning before school in the rain/snow we went over to see them. It was a little muddy and the kids actually did not want to get in it. So they decided to stand on the sidewalk. I was not so timid though and actually climbed down in the hole. That is why some of these pictures do not have people in them (I'm not as talented as Karen at taking pictures of myself, and plus I was not really ready for the day yet). They have also started to frame the foundation as you can see in this picture.

As you can tell I'm not very good at making a blog look good, Clint is much better. I will have to have him teach me how this works. I'm lucky I got the pictures in the order I wanted them. I'm sure there will be more progress on the house soon. We will keep you updated.

Josh is 2 years old!!! On Monday, March 31st, Josh will be 2. We celebrated his birthday with family today. We can't imagine life without our little Joshy. He is so mellow and calm. He loved all the presents he got today. Most of all he loved his new clothes and pajamas. You could tell he is a 5th child and is use to hand me downs. He hugged his clothes with a lot of excitement after opening them. Not the typical reaction for a 2 year old. This is a picture of Josh hugging his clothes.

Josh loves life and is a joy to have around. He is a handful, but is the biggest snuggler ever.

Grounding Breaking!!!!

Well it has been a while since we last posted and a lot has happened! We have decided to build a new home. We have our current house up for sale. We really hope that despite a slow housing market we can sale our current home for a decent price. We currently have our house listed on the MLS. Check it out - the MLS listing # is 783404. With spring upon us, they broke dirt on our new house this week! We are pretty excited. We are building with Woodside Homes in a subdivision called Quail Crossing. We are one of the last lots to be finished. From what we can tell there are a ton of little kids that live in our culdesac so it should be great for the kids. The first picture is the family on the lot prior to any work being done and the second is the kids near the hole after it was dug this week.

Our new home will eventually allow everyone in the family to have their own room. With the size of the Halverson Clan that is a lot of bedrooms!!! The home we have chosen to build is called the Ashton Manor. You can check out the floor plan at http://www.woodside-homes.com/docs/1755_plan_1.pdf#zoom=60. We are finishing all but the two bedrooms and the bathroom in the basement. Lisa has had a great time picking out all the options. I must admit she will have one amazing kitchen. We will have to have October Conference at the Halverson's this year to show off the new house.

Our new address will be 2156 South 175 East in Kaysville. The kids will go to a new elementary school, but the way boundaries currently are they will still go to Farmington Jr. and Davis High.

Other exciting news is that on April 7th, Lisa and I will take off for a whirlwind trip to Hawaii. Extra Space owns two properties in Hawaii and I will be spending a day or so at each one working on some technology issues. We have cashed in SkyMiles and Lisa will be traveling with me. We are calling this an early birthday present for her and it will be great to spend some time with just the two of us. We are excited to hang out on the beach and actually relax (even if for a short time) instead of chasing kids around in the water and we are really looking forward to some nice dinners with no crayons and kids menus. One of the best parts is that Grant and Sandra, Lisa's parents, are going to come and stay with the kids. The kids love it when they come and are very excited for us to leave. We are very grateful for the blessing of family in our lives! We will leave on Monday the 7th and fly home on the red eye flight on the evening of the 10th. Like I said, it will be a whirlwind trip, but we are excited.

Lisa and Alicia are also excited and getting ready for their trip to CA to see Uncle Rick graduate at the end of May. Grant and Sandra are taking Lisa for her Birthday. Once again, what a great blessing family is! They also invited Alicia to come along. The boys are going to enjoy a couple days at home doing "Man Stuff". We will be lucky to get out of our PJ's long enough to restock the chips and soda. It is actually the kids last day of school in their current elementary school so I will be playing Mr. Mom. Fitting since I already drive the mini-van in the family!

We had lots of fun with Alicia's birthday this year. On her actual birthday October 17th it was just the family. We had lots of fun! She got a Barbie, the movie High School Musical, and lots of new clothes and shoes. She decided to have Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner which is her favorite.

Aunt Chris helped us make these cool party invitations. So on Friday, we had 14 kids at a fun cowgirl party. Aunt Chris stayed and helped (the only way I made it through). We had a relay race, shooting gallery, roped our rootbeer bottles, opened presents, had a cowgirl dinner, played Rattle Snake Rope, a snake version on Hot Potato, then at the end we had a Round-Up (my neighbor hid over 50 bead necklaces in the front yard for them to find). Alicia had so much fun!

Then on Sunday we were able to have the family come for cake and ice cream. Grant, Sandra, Dionne, Phil, Christine, and Elizabeth were able to come. It was a lot of fun. Grandma and Grandpa Cannon Gave her some new boots(which she wears all the time), a notebook and pen, and a new outfit. Grandpa and Granny Halverson gave her lots of nice clothes, a doll, and a knitting machine. Chris and Elizabeth (and Greg) gave her a picture of her in her cowgirl clothes(she took this to school to be displayed all week).

We are so proud of Alicia and can barely believe she is already 7. Time just flies by.

The kids have started school

Brigham has started 3rd grade. He is loving it! His teacher this year is Mrs. Hepworth and he seems to really like her. He has already had homework and seems to not mind it very much right now.

Alicia started 1st grade this year. Her teacher is Mrs. Coles. She is really nice. On the second day she was the Queen of the day! She loved this because she got to sit on a chair instead of on the floor during stories and circle time.

Jacob has officially started kindergarten. He had to wait a week so that everyone could take a test before school started. His teacher is Mrs. Newman and he seems to like her. She is pretty strict so this will be great for Jacob. He says his favorite part of school is recess.

Isaac started preschool Wednesday. His teacher is Mrs. Hazeldine. Jacob and Alicia had her as well. The highlights of the day were making a marshmallow tower and playing outside. The only thing he would change about school is he would like to go everyday like his brothers and sister.
